On the 6th of May, 2024, Leonisa Plaga “Ness” Goodman, aged 90, passed from this life into the next in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on the 5th of July, 1933, in Ilo Ilo, Philippines, and her vibrancy was evident throughout her life.
With a Master’s degree in education from her native Philippines, Mrs. Goodman spent her career as a devoted educator before retiring. She instilled knowledge and inspiration in the lives of countless students.
A respected member of the Senior Citizen Organization in San Diego, California, Mrs. Goodman was admired for her avid love of travel, cultural experiences, and her ability to cherish every moment. Her enthusiasm for music and dance animated family gathering and community events alike. Adorned often in her favorite hue of pink, she brought warmth and affection to the lives of all who know her.
Leonisa is lovingly survived by her children- Easterbelle Araque Gomez, Leormie Araque Estacio, Christine Araque Francisco and Noel Araque; her treasured 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in her journey by her husband, Eugene Goodman.
A traditional Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 am on the 14th of May, 2024, with graveside services to follow at 12:30 pm. A reception will be held at 1:00 pm to honor her memory. These services will take place with the assistance of Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas.
In the passing of Leonisa Plaga Goodman, her legacy of joy, education and familial love will endure. She will be profoundly missed, yet forever remembered by her family and friends. May her soul find eternal rest and tranquility.
