She is preceded in death by her parents, Ubie B. Matheny, Sr. and Laura Baggett Matheny; husband, Horace Grey (Sonny) Coker; siblings, Ubie B. Matheny, Jr., Marie Neuhaus and Marvin Matheny.
Eulene will be remembered by her children, Dwight (Susan) Coker of Costa Rica, Connie (Grant) Haralson of Corpus Christi, TX and Bryant (Arlyne) Coker of Cedar Park, TX; and as beloved Nana to grandchildren Eric and Chad Coker, Adam Haralson, Blair Jones, and Taylor and Brandon Coker. She is also remembered by sister, Opal Billman, sister-in-law Josie Matheny, sister-in-law Dixie Matheny, 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a circle of friends. Eulene is also survived by her dear friend, Sam Cowling, who shared many wonderful memories with her.
Eulene and Sonny worked together for many years successfully managing Gulfway Television Service. Eulene was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, TX were she was active in the Women’s Ministry and also enjoyed working their famous rummage sales. She was a member of Spohn South Volunteer Organization, proudly devoting 17 years and 10 months to this great cause.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A family interment service will held at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 am. A Memorial service will follow at 1:30 pm at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 5300 South Alameda. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a church or charity of your choice.
