2020. Kathy was born in Houston, TX on October 16, 1927. She graduated from Corpus Christi High
School, graduated from Baldwin Business School and became a secretary at Corpus Christi Naval Air
Station near the end of WWII. She then married John L. Sullivan, Sr. and they started their family in
Corpus Christi, TX.
Kathy achieved so much in her lifetime and her accomplishments are too numerous to list here, but the
list would include working as an Administrative Secretary for the University of Corpus Christi, a Sales
Leader for Tri Chem Products and several terms as the mayor and municipal court judge of Pernitas
Point, TX. After her retirement, she volunteered her time and energy as a court appointed child
advocate for CASA for several years and instructed senior citizens in basic computer skills.
Kathy will always be remembered for her devotion to her Catholic faith and her family. Through the
years , s he was a confirmation sponsor for several of the grandchildren. Also, she and her husband were
active in the ministry of Marriage Encounter. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother. She always loved to dance! Whether it was the two step, the cumbia , square dancing or
the polka, she could dance the night away!
She was preceded in death by her father Ansel Roe Grogan, mother Madge Elizabeth
Grogan, sister Colleen Grogan Hamilton Little Hourie and husband John L. Sullivan, Sr.
She is survived by her dear friend and companion Cezar Galindo ; sister Delores Grogan Harper;
brother Ansel Roe Pat Grogan IV ; daughter Christina Sullivan Starkey ( Jim); son John L. Sullivan,
(Kay); and son Daniel K. Sullivan, ( Maureen); nine grandchildren John (Tiffany), Amanda (Ray),
Carissa, Ashley, Ryan ( Riannan), James , Christopher ( Michelle), Autumn (D J)J), and Daniel (Sa rah)rah); and 14 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Sullivan , Sr., Cezar Galindo, John L. Sullivan , Jr., Daniel Sullivan II, John L.
Sullivan III, Christopher Reece, Roland Martinez, Jr. and James Sullivan.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church at 10: a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A light lunch will be served at Most Precious Blood Catholic following interment. Please join us in the celebration of her life.
