Kathleen Sue Betancourt

Kathleen Sue (Copper ) Goodwin Betancourt, age 71, of Port Aransas, Texas went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. She was born December 5, 1951 to the late William "Bill" David Copper and Olive May (Goodwin) Copper in Abilene, Texas. Kathleen was raised in Graham, TX. After graduating from Graham high School, Kathleen started at the Wichita Falls State Hospital working with severely disabled women, selflessly helping them with all necessities. From there, she moved on to various nursing homes including Valley view in Eastland, TX, pausing to complete her LVN school in De Leon, TX and later her RN from The University of the State of New York (Regents) in 1995. She was still working as a nurse for a career lasting more than 50 years. Kathleen lovingly raised her children in Ranger, TX, before moving to Port Aransas, Texas, which was one of her lifelong dreams.

She is survived by her daughter Christina Betancourt Healey and husband Donald Christopher Healey of Corpus Christi, son Mark Levi Betancourt of Port Aransas; former spouse Antonio Betancourt;

Grandchildren: Mackenzie Leighan and Alyson Parker; nephews: Ryan Copper and Heath Copper; along with many friends.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael "Mike" William Copper.

She requested that her ashes be scattered at sea by the Lydia Ann Lighthouse in Port Aransas, Texas.
