Juanita R. Ynostroza

Juanita Ramirez Ynostroza, age 90, of Corpus Christi, TX passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at her home with her children by her side. Juanita was born on August 29, 1931 in Bishop, TX to Paula Salazar Ramirez and Tomas Ramirez. She was the oldest of eight siblings.

She graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1951 and attended Del Mar College for two years. She later worked in the nursing field as a CNA and later opened her own business in the home health care industry.

Juanita married her next door neighbor that she had known for most of her life. She and her husband moved to California (Bay Area) and raised six children until they moved back to Texas in 1976.

Juanita was an avid cook, gardner, loved to sew, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her love of cooking lead her at one time to run a small diner in California.

Juanita is survived by her six children Lamar Mendiola (David), Margaret Ynostroza, Tomas Ynostroza (Ann), Mel Ynostroza (Maggie), Linda Ynostroza, and Sandra Golden (John).

Juanita was loved by her eight grandchildren Sara Garza, Marisa Ynostroza, Sofia Ynostroza, Alana Ynostroza, Tommy Ynostroza, Gabriela Ynostroza, Richard Ynostroza, and Santana Golden.

The Pallbearers will be her two sons Tomas Ynostroza and Mel Ynostroza, her nephew Roger Ramirez and her three grandsons Tommy Ynostroza, Richard Ynostroza, and Santana Golden. Alternate pallbearers will be John Golden, James Hernandez, and Arturo DeLeon.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78415. A holy rosary will occur on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will occur Monday, August 1, 2022 at 11:30 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1302 Lantana ST, Corpus Christi, TX. A burial will occur Monday, August 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 1-37 Corpus Christi, TX.
