Juan "Steven" Estevan Saldivar

Juan Estevan “Steven” Saldivar, age 48, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 31, 2023 at his home in Corpus Christi. He will always be remembered as a loving, father, brother, friend, and colleague to all that knew and loved him.

Steven was born on August 18, 1974 in Alice, Texas. He was a loving father to his two children. Always willing to give whatever he had to provide for and support them. He graduated high school in 1992 from Kempner High School and went on to graduate from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in 1995. Steven began his career in funeral service upon graduation. During his 28 year career, he served in many communities including Houston, Killeen, Denver, San Antonio and Corpus Christi. Some of his personal accomplishments include his love of Jiu Jitsu, for which he earned a purple belt as well as several trophies and medals. He also enjoyed collecting and listening to vinyl records.

He is survived by his son, Xavier E. Speidel Saldivar of Katy, Texas, his daughter, Zoe Persephone Saldivar of Corpus Christi, Texas, his father, Manuel “Sonny” Saldivar (Margaret) of Houston, Texas, his mother, San Juanita Oralia “Janie” Perez (Amador) of Katy, Texas, his sister, Erika Saldivar Ofshe (Ben) of McKinney, Texas, step brothers, Felix Perez (Tricia), Joey Perez, Charlie Perez (Antionette); and his nephew, Grayson Thomas Ofshe along with numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sonia Weiser.

A celebration of life for Steven will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Holy Rosary being recited at 5:00pm and service to follow at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, TX.
