He proudly served with the United States Army and had a career with Corpus Christi Army Depot for 30 years. Jose was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He had a passion for collecting diecast cars, was his family's handyman, and loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and boxing. He will be remembered for his love of family, especially his grandchildren.
Jose is reunited with his parents; and brother, Juan Vera.
He leaves his loving memories to his wife of 55 beautiful years, Gloria Vera; children, Jose O. Vera, Daniel E. Vera (Dina), Vera Veronica Reyna, Vera Victoria Silva (Fidencio); siblings, Dora Tanguma (Arnold), Minerva Noriega, Alejo Vera Jr.; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Service will be held at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
