Mr. Garza was a World War II Veteran with the United States Army and lived in Corpus Christi for most of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by wife, Berta Garza; his parents Victoriano and Mercedes Garza; his brother, Miguel Garza; his daughter, Elma Hernandez (Raul), and daughter-in-law, Esperanza Garza.
He is survived by his loving children: Raul Garza (Nini), Isabel Aleman (Benny Jr), Armando Garza (Janice), Joe Garza, Jr. (Mary), Juan Garza (Linda), Frank Garza (Lisa), Janie Ramon (Gregory) and Carmen Morales (Greg). He also leaves behind to cherish his memories; 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, from San Antonio especially RN, Rose Kory, social worker, Cecilia Alvarez, RN, Delfina Martinez, and to the staff at Alamo Heights Rehab Center.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Funeraria del Angel-Cheyenne with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 pm that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
