Jose Flores Acuna, age 91, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. Born on August 13, 1933, in Chapman Ranch, Texas, Jose was a devoted family man and beloved friend. A widower, he was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Gloria Acuna, as well as his beloved daughters, Sandy Acuna and Diana Sayles.
Jose dedicated over three decades to Creveling Dodge, retiring after 33 years of loyal service. In his free time, he found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing his guitar, cooking, and especially barbecuing. He was happiest fishing alongside his brothers and children, sharing laughs and memories. He was also an avid fan of NFL games, particularly the Dallas Cowboys, whose games brought him endless delight.
A gentle and caring soul, Jose will be fondly remembered for his kind smile, big heart, and his unwavering respect and love for everyone he met. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy, and he especially cherished road trips with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Jose is survived by his sons, Joe Acuna Jr. (wife, Nelia) and Noe Acuna (wife, Andrea), and his daughter, Ruby Skrobarczyk (husband, Adolph). He is also survived by his sister, Viola Saenz (husband, Rey), along with numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Marisol Ortiz, RN Hospice nurse, and Monica Mendez, Hospice CNA, for their compassionate care.
