John proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin.
He was an oil producer, soccer coach, loving husband, doting father and grandfather, and an accomplished photographer. His photographs were appreciated and respected world-wide for his unique view of the world through his camera lens. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. E.A. Campbell; his sister, Chip Kackley; and twin brother, Jim Campbell.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cathey Campbell; daughter, Karen Oberwortmann (John); son, Mark Campbell (Jennifer); four grandsons, Jack and James Oberwortmann, and Holden and Walker Campbell.
Visitation will be held at the family home, Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 700 S. Upper Broadway.
The family’s appreciation goes to River City Hospice and Debbie Hudson for their kind care.
