Jesus was drafted into the U.S. Navy in 1967 and departed in 1973. He was proud to serve his country as a Vietnam veteran. After leaving the military he found his calling when he became an electrician. He began working at Corpus Christi Independent School District and retired after 35 years of service. After his retirement he continued to work as a Master electrician with his son, Jesse Valdez Jr. at their personal business, Triple J Electric.
Jesus enjoyed life; he loved to listen to music, sing, and dance especially with his wife, Linda. He was always known as the life of the party. He also enjoyed gardening in his yard and took pride in decorating the house for every holiday. He was adored by his family and his passing has put a huge hole in their hearts. He will truly be missed by all that loved him and his legacy will be passed on through his children and his future generations to come.
Jesus is preceded in death by his parents, Ambrocio and Isabel Valdez; his grandchildren, Marianna Rodela, Justin Garcia and Skyler Combs; his brothers, Ambrosio Valdez Jr., Raul Valdez, Joe Valdez, and Arturo Valdez.
Jesus is survived by his spouse of 47 years, Herlinda Valdez; his children, Jesse (Estrella) Valdez Jr., Amy (Richard) Deleon, Sandra Valdez and Laura Nava; his step-children, Ray (Linda) Soliz, Mary Helen Soliz, Gracie Soliz, Elizabeth Soliz and Roland (Yvonne) Soliz; his grandchildren whom lived with him, Jesse (Brianna) Valdez III , Jewel Valdez , Jeremy Valdez and Jenesi Valdez. He was also very close to his 2 great-grandchildren, Jesse Valdez IV and Lylia Luna Valdez; his sisters, Carmen Robles, Alicia Villarreal and Maria Elena (Mike) Guerrero and brother, Jose Santos Valdez along with numerous other grandchildren, brother and sisters-in-law, cousins, and friends.
