Robstown – Jeanette Gorbet, 85, went with peace on August 22, 2020. She was born at home in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 25, 1935 to Emmett and Eva Stobbs. She was the fifth child of six children. Siblings: Eugene, Dorothy, Howard, Barbara and Eunice.
She graduated from Roy Miller High School in the class of 1954. Starting at an early age she exhibited a love and a talent for country music playing the piano and guitar. Jeanette was happiest when performing the songs of her favorite country stars, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline. She worked at her daughter’s restaurant, Kenny B’s, in Robstown, Texas and continued there after it became Molano’s for over 25 years.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Eva Stobbs; son, Dennis Gurney; brothers, Eugene and Howard Stobbs.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Phil) Brazil; Step-children, Jill (Chuck) Cluiss; Lloyd (Missy) Gorbet; and, Bill (Denyce) Gorbet; Grandchildren, Ryan Berryhill; Brandon (Hailey) Berryhill; Eric (Lydia) Gurney; Jessica (Kevin) Meiners; and Kevin Gurney. Sisters: Dorothy Thompson (Al Baker); Barbara (Jimmie) Lanphier; Eunice Harden; and, Sister-in-law, Janie Stobbs. Also a plethora of great-greatchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family also wishes to express appreciation for the gentle care and friendship provided by “Serenity and Grace” Hospice who helped care for her during difficult times.
Services will be conducted at the Chapel at Memory Gardens located on 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
