Jacob Carpio Vela, 32, passed away on January 17, 2016. He was born on September 20, 1983 to John and Diana Vela in Corpus Christi Texas. Jacob proudly served in the United States Army, Ranger Regiment 1st BN 75th. He was a loving husband, brother, son and uncle. He will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Crescencio and Jacinta Vela; maternal grandparents, Manuel and Josephina Carpio. Jacob is survived by his wife, Kristina Vela; his children, Ryla and Kayla Vela; his parents, John and Diana Vela; his brother, John Vela Jr.; his sisters, Jennifer Vela and Joanna Carver (Danny) and sister-in-law, Norma Flores. He also leaves behind to cherish his memories his nieces, Monique Vela, Adriana Vela, Racquel Vela and Izabella Carver. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with interment to follow.
