Irma Garza Paz, age 88, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023. She was born on April 15, 1935, in Laredo, Texas to Juan De Dios Garza and Maria Del Refugia Torres Garza.
Irma was a dedicated & beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a strong, faith-based woman who had incredible faith and a magnifying love for Jesus Christ. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas. She enjoyed singing with the church choir and attending prayer group meetings with her parish family. She was employed with the Corpus Christi Independent School District, serving as a Cashier at Wynn Seale Junior High School for over 40 years, where she loved engaging in conversation with many of the students. Irma will always be remembered for being so kind and loving to everyone she met.
Irma married the love of her life, Jose (Joe) Paz on February 14, 1960. They were happily married for 63 years. Irma and Joe were parents to four daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, sons-in-law, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Irma is preceded in death by: her parents; Juan De Dios Garza and Maria Del Refugia Torres Garza, her sisters; Mary Sanchez and Cleo Elizondo; her brothers; Joe Garza, Louis Garza, Candelario Garza and John Garza, her grandson; Jonathan Aleman, her father-in-law and mother in-law; Antonio & Estefanita Paz, her special nephews; Cruz Sanchez and Anthony Sanchez, her sisters-in-law; Elda Paz ,Ramona Saenz and Delia Garza, her brothers-in-law; Jimmy Jimenez, Antonio Paz Jr., Robert Paz and Manuel Paz, and Jesse Moya.
Irma is survived by: her loving husband; Jose (Joe) Paz, daughters; Jo Anna Gannon (James), Diane Salazar (Eddie), Rose Ann Garcia, (Tony), Theresa Gonzales (Rey), 10-grandchildren; James Gannon, II, Kirsten Gannon, Joseph Aleman, Kelsey Salazar, Brittany Garcia, Kimberly Garcia, Steven Garcia, Kaytlyn Gonzales, Jordan Gonzales and Aeden Gonzales,13- great-grandchildren; Gunner Gannon, McKenzie Cevallos, McKayla Cevallos, Sebastian Cevallos, Gavin Aleman, Amber Aleman, Brooklyn Aleman, Aubrey Mercado, Adelina Meza, Kayden Meza, Ariella Garcia, Brayson Garcia and Jhavian Garcia. Sister; Eloisa Moya, Sister-in-laws; Beatrice Garza, Aurora Garza, Virginia Martinez (Felipe), and Ofelia Jimenez. Special nieces who she loved as her own daughters; Joyce Rodriguez , Sharon Garza, Trudy Arredondo, Linda Soliz, Lydia Pemberton and special nephew; Gilbert Sanchez.

A visitation for Irma will be held Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Rd., Corpus Christi, TX 78411 with a holy rosary recited at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral service on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5830 Williams Dr., Corpus Christi, TX 78412 followed by a committal service at 11:30 a.m. at Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412.
