Inez Fonseca Jr. passed away January 13, 2018. He was 70. He was born October 17, 1947 in McAllen, Texas to Inez Fonseca Sr. and Maria Salazar Fonseca. Inez served in the United States Army from June 26, 1968 until June 3, 1970 when he was Honorably Discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal for his courageous service in the Vietnam War.
Inez was preceded in death by his parents, Inez Fonseca Sr. and Maria Salazar Fonseca; a brother, Robert Fonseca, sister, Estella Garza and a grandson, Christopher Michael Fonseca. Survivors include his wife, Connie Fonseca; two sons, Christopher Fonseca and Gabriel Fonseca; grandchildren, Rey Rodriguez, Roxanne Salazar, Amanda Fonseca, Samantha Fonseca and Ben Fonseca; siblings, Felix Fonseca, Ruben Fonseca, Gilbert Fonseca, Diana Fonseca, Maggie Vasquez, Jesse Fonseca and Mike Fonseca, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. evening. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2018 at S. S. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
