Imelda R. Ortiz- beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at age 90 on July 13, 2023 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Imelda was born to proud parents Francisco and Elvira Ramos in Hebbronville, Texas on April 5th, 1933.
Imelda was proudly married to Felix V. Ortiz in 1959 and together had 4 beautiful daughters. Imelda was a member of the Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
Imelda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who she cherished with all of her heart. One of Imelda’s favorite things to do was to play Mexican bingo with her best friend, Tonya Jasso and other dearest friends.
Imelda is preceded in death by her parents Francisco and Elvira Ramos; her five siblings; and her beloved angel great-granddaughter, Lillian Elise Garcia.
Left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy are her four daughters Nelda Ortiz Davila (John), Gloria O. Garza (Charlie), Diana O. Tello (Roland), and Melba O. Ortegon (Steve); nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation for Imelda will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
A chapel service will occur Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
An interment will occur Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
