He is survived by his children; Mary (Dave) of Corpus Christi Texas; Betty (Dean) of Alexandria Virginia; Athena of Corpus Christi Texas; Patricia of Corpus Christi Texas; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, his siblings: Guadalupe Solis (Sister) of Houston, Texas and Brothers; Erasmo of Houston Texas; Oscar of Corpus Christi Texas; Salvador of Las Vegas Nevada; Antonio Jr.(deceased), Hiram (deceased), Humberto (deceased) and many beloved nieces and nephews and extended families.
Mr. Ortiz’s life touched many lives here in Corpus Christi and around the globe. Having served the United States Army for 27 years. Upon retirement, he returned to his home, Corpus Christi, Texas and opened a security company, build opportunities for learning and job opportunities for many individuals within the community. He provided training for security guard classes, polygraph instruction, and provided security services. Many local organizations benefited from his knowledge and support.
He attended Most Precious Blood Church and Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. He received his education from Del Mar College, Associates in Police Science, Texas A & M University- Corpus Christi a Bachelors in Criminal Justice, and Texas A & M University – a graduate of the Polygraph Examiners.
He actively participated with multiple professional and personal organizations: The American Society for Industrial Security, Texas Association of Licensed Investigators, National Military Intelligence Association, Council of International Investigators, and Texas Association of Polygraph Examiners, Past Chairman/Founder, Gulf Coast Chapter, American Society for Industrial Security, Past Chairman, Law Enforcement Committee, Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, Past Member-Police Science Advisory Committee, Del Mar College,, Past Vice President, Texas Association of Licensed Investigators, Former Reserve Deputy (Lieutenant), Nueces County Sheriff’s Department; Member of Committee on Ethics and Professional Standards, Council of International Investigators, past Chairman, Texas Board of Polygraph Examiners.
Viewing and rosary will be held at Funerary Del Angel – Memorial Holly at 1:00 P.PM. located at 3442 Holly Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. The interment will be at Seaside Memorial Park at 2:30 P.M. at 4357 Ocean Drive Corpus Christi, Texas 78412
