Hazel Steen Dixon

Hazel Steen Dixon, 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on September 27, 2020. She was born in Gonzalez, Texas on November 22, 1936. She graduated from Coles High School. She was married to Earl Dixon.

Hazel worked as a nurse’s aide in the medical field for Spohn/Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Church of Acts. She had a passion for sewing, singing, dancing and fashion.

She is survived by her children: Sharon Dixon James, Earl Dixon, Jr., Shirley Dixon Speed, Beverly Stoney and Charles A. Dixon. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Daphne Garrett, Nicole James, Leonard James, Jr., Daquisha Page, Mateo Gonzales, Allen A. Dixon-Speed, IV, Hazel D. Dixon-Speed, Andre Dixon, Ava Dixon, Shirley A. Dixon-Speed, Aiyanah M. Dixon, Jeralyn Dixon and Emery Thompson; as well as her 14 great-grandchildren.

Hazel is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Claudine Glenn, Dempsey Harris, Robert Harris, Rufus Williams and Willie Williams; as well as a slew of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 9:30 AM. Celebration of Life Services will begin at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
