Guadalupe H. Salazar passed away on April 29, 2015 at the age of 84. He was born in Corpus Christi, TX on December 27, 1930 to Eusebio and Dionicia Salazar. Guadalupe is preceded in death by his parents and was the last of nine siblings.
Guadalupe was a lifelong resident of Texas, living all but eight years in Corpus Christi. He was an Air Force veteran and served in the Federal Civil Service. His last position prior to his retirement was as a Workforce Time Management Specialist at the Corpus Christi Army Depot. He was recognized in 1985 for his participation in a national Department of Army Productivity Task Force where he was part of a team that evaluated work standards and procedures of all U. S. Army Depots in the United States. He retired in 1988 after 34 dedicated years in Federal Civil Service.
Guadalupe was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Palmira R. Salazar; children, Captain Gabriel R. (Kathleen D.) Salazar (USN, Ret.), D’Andrea S. (Ruben) Chavez and J. Anthony (Ruth L.) Salazar and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Daniel, R.J. and Christian. Guadalupe is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
