Guadalupe Luna Cardenas

Guadalupe Luna Cardenas born on December 20, 1949, went on to be with our Lord and Savior after a short illness on Monday, January 27, 2014, at the age of 64. A lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, she graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1969 and later obtained a Dietary Degree at Texas A&I University in 1976. She was retired from Retama Manor Nursing Center after 25 years as a Certified Dietary Manager. Guadalupe was a beloved member of Bethel Assembly of God and served faithfully. Devoted mother and wife, she loved to spend time with her family. She was a loving grandmother to Christian Daniel Cardenas, Chelsea Ann Hernandez, Silverio Hernandez, Elvira Celeste Hernandez, Daniel Jose Cardenas and great granddaughter, Cecilia Ann Arenas.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Daniel P. Cardenas, Sr., her parents Celestino and Elvira Luna and her sister Olga Lydia Luna. She is survived by her daughter Belinda Cardenas-Hernandez, and sons, Alfredo Cardenas and Daniel P. Cardenas, Jr. and her siblings, Alicia Luna, Celestino (Viola) Luna, Adela Luna, Juanita (Jose) Torres, Juan (Delia) Luna, Aurora (Victor) Cuellar, and Francisco (Oma) Luna. She was also blessed with countless nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Funeral Service will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
