Gloria Gonzales Moreno, 82, “La Flor” departed this worldly life on Nov. 9, 2017 to meet her heavenly Father and to be reunited with her husband of 53 yrs & 9 mos., Tiburcio Moreno. Together again to rest in peace for eternity. Gloria was born in Brownsville, Tx. on Aug. 14, 1935 to Guadalupe Gonzales & Maria Robles Lugo, she resided there until she was swept away by the love of her life to Corpus Christi, Tx. where the Moreno family was raised. After a brief work stint for CCISD she moved on to manage the Woolworth coffee shop at the Padre Staples Mall. Her pleasant demeanor earned the respect of many customers and she made many lifelong friends. She ultimately would retire after 24 yrs of service. Gardening, sewing, crocheting, praying with the “Guadalupanas” of Christ the King church, spending time with her family and friends and doing volunteer work were her favorite past times. Though she will be dearly missed, she will live on in the memory of all the people whose lives she touched. She is pre-deceased by her parents, beloved husband and brother Rolando Gonzales. She is survived by her brothers and sister, Guadalupe (Elvia), Roberto (Lupita), Irma, Valentine, Jesus, Abraham, Ruben. She leaves behind her children Joe Moreno (Leticia), Hector Moreno (Blanca), Alicia Saenz (Mike), Oscar Moreno, Sandy McNamer (Leroy). Grand children Christina, Aaron (Ryan), Amanda, Melissa Ennis (Aaron), Hector Jr., Marcus (Esmerelda), Michael (Monika), Cynthia Cromeans (Christian), Sylvia Medrano, Norma, Annika, Jasmine and Haley McNamer. Great grandchildren McKenna, Kara, Raeyana, Julian, Cooper, Ellie, Marcus Jr., Mateo, Maxamillion, Miguel, Anthony, Sarah, Colton. Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Home, 3442 Holly Rd. on Sunday Nov. 12, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church on Monday, Nov. 12, 2017 at 10:00 am. With Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Reception to follow at Christ the King Church Hall. Heavenly Father we praise you for your Glory. We give Thanks to you for this Glorious woman. She was a Devoted Wife and a Loving Mother. Give us Strength to accept your will and Courage in this hour. We commend her into your Kingdom and we have faith that we will reunite with her in your glory. Lord, now let your servant go in peace; your word has been fulfilled. Father, You made us in Your own image and Your Son accepted death for our Salvation. Help us to keep watch in prayer at all times. May we be free from sin when we leave this world and rejoice in peace with You forever. Amen.
