Gilberto M. Garcia

On April 29, 2011, the Lord opened his arms and took Gilberto M Garcia to his eternal rest surrounded by his family. He was 94 years old. Gilberto was born to Eliseo and Laura Garcia in Conception, Texas on November 14, 1916.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Anita and Rosa; son, Mario; daughter, Eva and several siblings.

Gilberto leaves behind his children, Juan Gilberto Garcia (Angie), Sylvia Contreras (late, Alex), Anita Garcia, Elizabeth Cervantes (late, Gilbert) and Gilbert D. Garcia (Nora); 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Gilberto had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. He was loved for his generosity. His ranch was his great pride. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked for Reynolds Metal Co. for 25 years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will be receiving friends at Funeraria del Angel Memorial Holly on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Premont Cemetery in Premont, TX.
