Fidelio Palacios, age 67, departed this world suddenly and gained his spiritual freedom on Saturday, December 10th, 2022. He was a faithful and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, God-father, brother-in-law, uncle and friend; beloved by all for his good nature and kind spirit. Fidelio was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on September 23rd, 1955 to Roel and Maria Dolores Palacios. He was a hard-working man his entire life, learning many trades throughout the years. An intelligent man, Fidelio was self-taught in many trades and had several skills. He earned his GED in May of ‘77 and enjoyed his youth as a sound and light technician with a local rock band, formed by his friends. Fidelio later married his one true love, Emelinda, and became a father to her two sons, Emmanuel & James. Shortly after the birth of their third son, Omar, he moved his family to San Antonio, TX, where he gained two God-sons, Vincent and Joshua. He pursued his interest in carpentry, and became a Journeyman Carpenter with Local Union 14 of San Antonio, TX in April of ’92. He adored his granddaughter Jonie Jo, held fond memories in his heart of her, and felt so proud of her accomplishments. Fidelio spent his retirement years wood-working, building, creating, and restoring anything he felt would improve the family home. Fidelio cared for his wife during her battle with cancer in 2018, tending to her every need, and remaining vigilant every minute of every day until her battle was won. His wife did the same for him when he battled and overcame COVID-19 in 2021. The best years of his life were spent making beautiful memories with family and friends at events and gatherings, enjoying live music, good food, and celebrating every moment of life. He remained a faithful and devoted husband and father for the last 37 years of his life. Fidelio’s faith in God and Jesus was restored as he witnessed the power of prayer, thru the healing of his wife’s cancer, his own recovery, and the shield of protection over his sons during times they were in harms way serving their country or working on the road. He had a loving heart, unselfish nature, and a beautiful soul. Fidelio Palacios will be missed beyond words. “You’re free now my Love, but we will meet again.”
