Eustolia G. Salazar, age 97, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Saturday, August 6, 2022. Eustolia was born on October 28, 1924 in Sarita, Texas. She was a graduate of Corpus Christi Senior High School, class of 1943. She then went on to earn her certification as an optician technician. Eustolia was a long-time member of the Greenwood Senior Center, and she was active within the special events committee. She proudly reigned as the Greenwood Senior Center Valentine’s Day Queen for several years in a row. She also graciously volunteered for numerous years with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program-RSVP. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, attending dances, and going gambling. She lived life to the fullest and made countless trips to the casinos. Even in her final days she exclaimed, “I want to win the big one!” Eustolia loved her family deeply and cherished holiday gatherings with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who affectionately called her “Memo”.
Eustolia is survived by her daughters Edna Callejo (Rey), Lydia Martinez (Tony), and Cynthia Reuter; her sons Robert Salazar (Sylvia) and Rudy Salazar (Deena); 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Deacon Amando Leal, Mark Callejo, Kelly Curran, Jade, Shondika, and Mytria with Holy Savior Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they provided.
Honoring her as her pallbearers are Michael Callejo, Mark Callejo, Andrew Martinez, Eric Martinez, Chase Reuter, and Sean Woods.
A visitation for Eustolia will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A vigil service and rosary will be recited on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 7:00 PM, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A chapel service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. An interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78415.
