Ernesto G. Carrington, age 86, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023. He was born on August 14, 1936, in Cuero, Texas to parents, Carlos and Guadalupe Carrington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Guadalupe Carrington; son, Carlos E. Carrington and nine siblings.
He was a loving husband and father. He loved the outdoors and would rather be outside working on the lawn or a project around the house. He was a jack of all trades, always helping friends and family with odd jobs. He always wanted to help people, so later in his life, he became a volunteer with the Red Cross Disaster Relief program and traveled to various weather disasters across the United States and assisted in hand delivering meals to affected areas. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria A. Carrington; son, Guillermo Carrington; Daughter, Dora Lou Carrington; and many other loving family and friends.
A visitation for Ernesto will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A vigil service and rosary will occur Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 7:00 PM, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2045 18th Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78404. An interment will follow on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.
