Erasmus “Amo” Gomez, 63 was born on August 20, 1955 in Corpus Christi, Texas and left this earth to join his mother (Maria), father (Conrado) and brother (Joe Patrick “Pepe”) in heaven on Saturday October 6, 2018.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife Josephine of over 40 years, daughters Sandra Utterback, and Crystle (Anthony) Jewell and his two sons Reuben G. (Didi) and Erasmus Timothy Gomez. Five loving grandchildren, Ricky, Gwen, and Logan Utterback, Kaleb Amo Gomez, and Ariana Jewell. His sisters Esmeralda (Frank) Rivera, Alicia Stover, Elena (Harold+) McDaniel, and Diana (Alvino) Reyna III, brothers Richard, Eugenio (Lee), George (Angie), and Mario Gomez, plus numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Erasmus was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone. He loved sports, especially football, his favorite past time was watching his number one team the Dallas Cowboys.
He worked as a supply technician at the Corpus Christi Army Depot for several years, and served in the United States Army. He was a gifted carpenter and spent his free time building beautiful pieces of furniture. Amo was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects or whatever else people needed him to do. He will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Reuben Gomez, Timothy Gomez, Ricky Gomez, Elijah Pena, Ruben Colon and Todd Jimenez.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Northwest Baptist Church building fund on Callicoatte Rd in Annaville.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel.
Interment will follow at Casa Blanca Cemetery in Sandia, Texas.
