Erasmo Ortiz

He worked for the Massad family for over 60 years. Hunting and working at the ranch were his passions, along with watching his Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame football games. He was a tough, strict and honest man who was always there to help those in need.

Erasmo is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Rebeca Ortiz and siblings, Christina and Daniel.

Erasmo is survived by his brothers, Ernest, Enrique, and Ezequiel; sisters, Delia and Melida. He was a loving father to Robert (Mary Helen) Ortiz, Erasmo (Patricia) Ortiz Jr., Rebecca Ortiz, Randy (Belinda) N. Garcia, and Jazmin (Tommy) Torres; a grandpa to Robert (Leah) Ortiz Jr., Melissa (Baldemar Jr.) DeLeon, Katherine (Hipolito) Uvalle, Amber Flores, Marisol Flores and Lorenzo Torres; a great-grandpa “Papo” to Gabriella, Joshua, Isabel, Abigail, Alex, Nick, Orion, C. J., Isabella and many extended family members that will miss him dearly.

Active Pallbearers will be Robert Ortiz, Robert Ortiz Jr., Baldemar DeLeon, Randy Garcia, Johnny Solis, and Joshua DeLeon. Honorary Pallbearers are Orion Uvalle and Erasmo Ortiz Jr.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
