Enrique G. Chapa

He had 7 brothers and sisters, 4 of whom preceded him in death – Olga, Jesse, Johnny, Rolando as well as both of his parents.

Enrique served his country proudly in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He retired from the Ohio Operating Engineers after many years of service. He had lived and worked in the Columbus-Dayton, Ohio area for over 35 years. He retired and came back to his roots in Corpus Christi in 2001.

Enrique was a wonderful husband and loving father who loved his family and friends. Enrique loved gardening and appreciated God”s handiwork in nature. He was a simple, ordinary man who made the ordinary seem so extraordinary.

He leaves his memory to be cherished by his loving wife of 47 years, Magdalena Leal Chapa, his sons Mark E. Chapa, of Corpus Christi, Jay P. Chapa , Michael Chapa and a daughter Monica Chapa all residing in Florida. He is also survived by his grandchildren – Ryan, Christian, Jordan, Jessica, Jason, Anita, Dominique, Olivia, and Mitchell.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly. Services will conclude at that time.
