Emma Elizondo Chatman passed away on September 12, 2022 at the age of 85. She was born on April 1, 1937 in El Sauz, TX. She was a graduate of Roma High School from Roma, TX. Emma loved working with people, choosing nursing as a lifelong profession. She received her certification as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Her dedication to nursing inspired some of her younger sisters to enter the nursing field. After many decades of nursing in various specialties, Emma retired from the psychiatric unit at Memorial Medical Center, Corpus Christi, TX with over 25 years of dedicated service. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sharing her books with family and friends. Emma will be remembered for her sweet and caring nature. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Emma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Emma is preceded in death by her beloved son, Ben Jim Chatman; parents, Emilio and Teresa Elizondo; sister, Josefina (Josie) Elizondo, and brother, Emilio Elizondo, Jr.
Emma is survived by her beloved husband, Ben Chatman; grandson, Jakim Chatman; brothers and sisters, Guadalupe Elizondo Gonzalez, Alduino Elizondo (Anita), Irene Elizondo, Daniel Elizondo (Margie), Dalia Elizondo Garza (Edward) and multiple nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Rd., from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Rd., at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
