Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ella Belle Kiker Edwards, passed away on January 15th, 2023 in her home. Belle was 96 and was surrounded by her sons and grandchildren in her last days.
Ella Belle was born to Dewey Paul and Ina Beatrice Kiker on April 9, 1926 in North Roby, Texas.
After graduating at the top of her class form Orange Grove High School, Belle entered the US Cadet Nursing Corp. She would go to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and eventually retire as nursing instructor at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. A founding and faithful member of Padre Island Baptist Church, Belle’s retirement years were spent serving her church and her family. She loved fishing, traveling, bird watching, flowers, family reunions, her church family, and serving a good meal.
Belle joins her parents, sisters, and eldest son, Lee Edwards in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members and friends, including her brother, Jerry Paul Kiker, her sons, Ed Edwards & David Edwards, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who are so thankful to have been able to know her. Her love and her devotion to her family was unspeakable.
