He was born June 11, 1948 to Santos and Minnie Rivera.
He is preceded in death by his mother.
Eddie proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart.
He retired from Valero Refinery after 32 years.
Eddie loved and enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, family and friends, loved hunting, fishing and going to casinos.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his father, Santos Rivera; his loving wife of 47 years Josie Rivera; children, Lisa Lee (David), Mark Rivera; grandchildren, Kelli Lee, Jonathan Lee, Damien Rivera, Katelyn Rivera and his siblings, Pete Rivera (Annette), Linda Haney (Corky), Rick Rivera (Debbie); daughter-in-law, Nancy Saldaña and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
The family wishes to thank all family members and friends for their support and care.
Honoring him as Pallbearers are Jonathan Lee, Damian Rivera, Pete Rivera, Rick Rivera, Kenny Rivera, Richard Rivera, Manuel Lopez, Jr., and Ben Castillo.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly chapel. Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 2, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
