Donna Darlene Frederick, 73, a Christian wife, devoted mother, treasured “DD” to her grandchildren, and faithful friend left this world for her heavenly home June 22, 2022 after a well-fought battle with cancer.
Donna’s life was a gracious, beautiful example to all those around her of the unwavering grace and faithfulness of God. Donna was married to the love of her life, Larry, for more than 46 years. Together, they raised two godly sons — both her pride and joy who served as USMC pilots and patriots to their country.
A Haltom High School class of ‘67 graduate, Donna went on to earn her bachelor’s at the University of North Texas in 1971 and would later teach fifth grade at Spring Ridge Elementary in Richardson, Texas. Larry and Donna settled in Corpus Christi where they spent weekends water skiing on the Nueces, dancing competitively, and lending her decorating genius to her Corpus Christi properties, including Villa La Casita, her bed and breakfast.
Donna and Larry are members of Grace Bible Church. She would want any tears to be ones of joy in confidence you will see her again, if and only if, you have personally believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior. Her death is the greatest spiritual promotion she could ever receive — and one that honors God as a believer in Jesus Christ.
Donna is survived by her husband, Larry Frederick, their son LCDR Joe Bob Frederick, USN, his wife, Kristi, and their four children, Rylynn, Kastyn, Brady and Reed. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Kiley Frederick-Bult, her husband, Michael Bult, grandson, Colt Frederick-Bult, and granddaughter, Mayley Frederick-Bult. She is survived by her sister, Linda Franklin, nephew Jason Franklin, cousin, Lisa Wilson and sister-in-law, Kay Monahan. Donna is a Gold Star Mother — preceded in death by her youngest son, Capt. Jake “Red Stripe” Frederick, USMC, who died in service to his country. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Jane Lawson, and father and mother-in-law Ed and Ruth Frederick.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks for the amazing and unending sympathy and support from countless friends and family. Services for Donna will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Memory Gardens, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. Visitation will be from 12:30pm - 2pm, with a memorial celebration immediately to follow in the chapel at Memory Gardens.
