Domingo G. Martinez (Nick), 79, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2019 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Domingo (Nick) gave his life to our Lord Jesus Christ some 48 years ago. He was a loving husband, father grandfather and great-grandfather. He always prayed for his children, his siblings and he was considered the “Pillar” of the family.
Domingo was born in Defiance, Ohio to Eliseo and Olivia Martinez on May 14, 1940. He attended Roy Miller High School. He graduated from Del Mar College and worked as a Chemical Engineer for American Chrome for 35 years. He married the love of his life, Juventina Vargas (Lilly), on September 10, 1961 in Corpus Christi.
He was a Vietnam War Veteran and proudly served in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Domingo Martinez is preceded in death by his parents, Eliseo Martinez and Olivia Martinez and his loving wife of 49 years, Juventina Vargas Martinez.
He is survived by his three daughters: Debbie Thomas, Barbara (Richard) Escobedo, and Cori (William) Mandel. His son: Gary (Sandra) Martinez; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 8 sisters, 4 brothers and many friends and relatives.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy D. Gonzalez, III, Jeremiah Mejia, Justin Mandel, Jason Mandel, Ricky Escobedo and Gerald Lugo.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 5:00-9:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
