Diamantina Y. Garza Leeman(Tina) of Corpus Christi died on Saturday September 3rd, 2022. She was 73 years old. Tina was born in Alice, Texas on September 9th, 1948, to Margarito and Candelaria Garza. Tina moved to Corpus with her family when she was 3 yrs. old, due to Tina having asthma. She attended Southgate, Prescott, Cunningham elementaries, graduating from Carroll High School. She worked at Woolco Department store, where she met the love of her life, John R. Leeman, jr. She married John on June 10th, 1972. The couple lived in Laredo, Texas, where John was transferred to the Laredo Woolco.
Returning to Corpus in 1973, where Tina started to work for HEB Company. In 1976 they welcomed Tina Michelle Leeman, to their family. Th family stayed in Corpus following Tina Michelle around to all the band events. In her later years Tina was a familiar figure at her grandchildren’s helping in the cafeteria during lunch time and during school events. She is survived by her Husband of 50 years, John R. Leeman, jr, her daughter Tina Michelle (Leeman) Martinez, her son in law, John A. Martinez, grandchildren Anabella (Bella), Alejandra (Aley) and John(J) all of Corpus. She is also survived by her sisters, Diana Alvarez (Richard F. Alvarez) and Dubie Cantu (Eddie Cantu). She is also remembered by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Diamantina will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel - Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A vigil service and rosary will occur Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 7:00 PM, 3442 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 9:30 AM at St. Pius X, 5620 Gollihar Road, Corpus Christi, TX. An interment will occur Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37 Access Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.
