Desiderio Rodriguez Jr.

Born in Alice, Texas to Desiderio,Sr and Julia Rodriguez, Desi lived a life filled with love, laughter and kindness. He was known for his warm smile, gentle demeanor and unwavering generosity.

Desi worked for several years for Moore’s Grocery store and then as a ship supplier for Texas Marine before opening his own business, Desi’s Gold Jewelry, in 1984 at the Corpus Christi Trade Center. He was a Jeweler for 40 years, where he was respected for his dedication and honesty. He approached every creation with diligence and integrity, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with him and ordering jewelry from him.

In his free time, Desi enjoyed going to movies, dining out, going on family vacations and cruises finding solace and joy in the simple moments spent with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to concerts in the local community.

Desi will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Olga Rodriguez, his children Reynol Rodriguez (Angel), Rene Rodriguez (Janella) and Roxanne English (Blair), grandchildren, Desirae Mitchell, Ashley Rodriguez, Zachary Underbrink and his great-grandchildren, Jayce Garza, Rebecca Mitchell and Asher Garza, extended family and friends. He is survived by his brothers, Ray & Johnny Rodriguez and his sisters, San Juanita Gonzalez and Nena Moore. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly for his kindness, compassion and gentle spirit.

Desi may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at Angel Bright Hospice for their care during the last days of his life here on Earth. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all friends, family and loved ones who have gathered here today to honor and remember Desi. Your presence provides comfort and strength during this difficult time. The outpouring of love, support and shared memories has been a source of solace for our grieving hearts. Together, we celebrate a life well-lived and find solace in the cherished memories we hold dear.

A visitation for Desiderio will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A holy rosary will occur Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 7:00 PM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A continued visitation will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 9:00 AM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. An entombment will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
