Delmar Louie Mair

Delmar Louie Mair passed away on June 18, 2017 at the age of 88. He was born in San Antonio, TX on December 7, 1928 to the late William B. Mair and Ida Noll Nair. Delmar enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 years old and served for four years before being honorably discharged. A few years later he then reenlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and fulfilled another four years of service. During this time he served in the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart for an injury. Delmar also retired from Southwestern Oil Refinery after 37 years of employment.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lorraine Mair; two daughters, Lori Mair and Lisa Mair Johnson; four grandchildren, Ashley Mair, Levi Mair, Lora Johnson and Jacob Johnson and two great-grandchildren, Sydney Rodriguez and Alyvia Mair.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd., on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 12:00 pm with Chapel service starting at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. To offer condolences please visit www.memorygardensfuneralhome.com
