In 1951 he began his life-long career with Rainbo Baking Company which brought him to Corpus Christi, TX in 1973 to assume the position as President of the Corpus Christi bakery, where he was greatly admired and respected by all.
In Dean’s lifetime, he had a love for boat racing, hunting, and spending weekends at his lake-front property with friends and family. He had an infectious laugh and a generous heart. He would help anyone in need, and enjoyed his political debates. To him, there was no greater joy than a child’s laugh. He was the best Father and friend a person could ever ask for. He was truly a Great Man.
Dean was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He leaves his precious memories to his children, Diana (Ralph) Midyett of St. Joseph, Missouri, David (Nam Sun) Midyett of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kelly (Mike) Grabb of Pasadena, Texas, Tina (Charlie) Preston of Jasper, Alabama, Deana (Phillip) Midyett of Corpus Christi, Texas; his grandchildren, Joshua, Deano, Ronald, Waylon, Derek, Jimmy, Danny, Katie, Michael, Holly and 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Ronald Midyett and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Dean is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Midyett; his parents, Marvin and Vesper Midyett; and sister, Audrey Kribbs.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
