David Saenz Gonzales

Davy came from a big family of eleven children. Everyone in Taft knows Davy or one of his siblings. He was a gifted, professional painter who loved to work and was truly blessed with customers up until the day he passed away. All the hosts of heaven and earth paused and are saying: here lived a truly remarkable painter who took great pride in his work. Davy enjoyed boxing, fishing, backyard BBQ's and being with his family and friends, and everyone knew he was a CNN news junkie. Davy was married to Olivia for 55 years. He was a kind and gentle soul, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and loyal friend who will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Ernesto and Amanda Gonzales; Sister Irene (Manuel) Castillo; Brothers: Israel Gonzales, George Gonzales, Eloy Gonzales, Richard Gonzales;

He is survived by his wife, Olivia (Acosta) Gonzales; his sister: Pauline Martinez; Brothers: Adan (Flora) Gonzales, Adrian (Maggie) Gonzales, Javier (Yvonne) Gonzales, and Reymundo (Susana) Gonzales; children: Frank (Ida) Garcia, Cynthia (Jose) Cruz, Veronica (Manuel Cuellar) Gonzales, Monica (Daniel) Lopez, David "Guero" (Veronica Hernandez) Gonzales, Jr.; Grandchildren: Carlos (Edyth) Moreno, Jr., Camilo Moreno, Michael (Rebecca) Cruz, Jose Cruz, Jr., Crystal Flores, Ruby Soto, Antonio Alvarado, Justin Gonzales, Erica (Ronald) Broussard, Anthony (Brittany) Hernandez, Olivia (Fernando) Diaz, ricky (Taylor) Guerrero, David Gonzales, III, Rudy Rodriguez, Xavier Rodriguez, Mariah Rodriguez, and Snowball Garcia; David also has 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 120 East Escobedo Street, Taft, Texas, on Sunday, March 14, 2021 starting at 5 p.m. with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 120 East Escobedo Street, Taft, Texas. Services will conclude there and cremation will follow.
