David Canals Garcia III

David “Baby Dave” Canals Garcia III, 29, passed away on August 1, 2024. David was born October 26, 1994, born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX.

David was preceded in eternal rest by his father, David “Big Dave” Garcia, and is survived by his mother, Yvonne Canals; his grandparents: the late, Yolanda and Pete Canals; his daughter, Elaina Lorraine Garcia; his siblings, Heather (TJ) Zahn, Jonathan Canals, and Jullia (Nick Silva) Montez; his aunt, Yvette Canals and Priscilla Hernandez; his cousins, Stephen, and Erika Montez, and Justin DelToro; his nieces and nephews, Jada Pena, Jadan “Gotti” Canals, Jazzlynn Saldana, Jayla Canals, Michael Dominguez, Avalynne and Nikko Silva; and his long-time partner, Ladissa Samudio with stepdaughter Sofia Cisneros.

As a child, David grew up playing football where he was positioned as a Linebacker and a Quarterback at Kaffie Middle School and Richard King High School. Growing up David imprinted memorable memories with people he met along the way. He was easy to talk to and one of the best listeners. David always gave the best advice and always wanted to make sure his friends and family were taken care of. Even if it meant taking the shirt off his back to give to someone in need. A legacy that will remain in perpetuity.

A generally self-made man, David was a devoted cook where he previously worked at A1 Steakhouse in Calallen, TX. David enjoyed cooking because he loved to see the happiness he brought to people with his cooking skills. He also enjoyed his hobbies of fishing, singing, and dancing. David was a family man who spent most of his time with family and friends.

A prayer service will occur Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78411. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Memory Gardens, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
