She was born on August 7, 1925 to Jose Jimenez and Guillerma Ramirez Jimenez in Thomaston, Texas. Cayetana loved going to church at Our Lady of Pilar in Corpus Christi and was a Guadalupana for 20 years.
She was passionate about feeding her family and made the best tortillas in the world. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was playing cards and bingo. She will always be remembered for her favorite saying, “Ahhhh chocolates!” She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Pedro Luna Martinez; daughter, Frances Reyes and son, Pedro Martinez Jr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Juanita Martinez, Jose (Eulalia) Martinez, Victor (Laura) Martinez; Mary Alice (Richard) Garcia, Pedro (Julia) Martinez II, Gloria (Rey) Garcia, Adan (Cynthia) Martinez, Eva (Carlos) Garcia, Socorro (Eric) Orozco, Carolina (Ricardo) Garcia, Sylvia Martinez (Jim Batey) and Jesus Martinez all of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother, Alfonso Jimenez also of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother, Alfonso Jimenez also of Corpus Christi, Texas; 32 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-great grandchildren also survive her.
Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
