Carolyn Salazar Moreno, 68 passed away after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She entered this world on April 24, 1947 and departed on April 27, 2015. She is preceded death by her parents, Ramon and Leonor Salazar; brother, David Urrea Jr. and her sister, Gloria “Gina” Mendez, who she will soon be reunited with. Carolyn lit up every room that she entered, with her lively, outgoing personality, and wonderful sense of humor. She had kind heart that never turned anyone away. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, dancing, and celebrating with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her time as a member of the Nueces County Trailriders. Left to carry on her memories are her beloved husband, Jesse Bentancourt; her loving children, Macario “Mike” Moreno Jr., Yvonne Moreno and Marilyn Moreno; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Moreno; and son-in-law Rafael “Ralph” Moreno Jr. She loved being a grandmother to Russel Henry Garza, Victoriarose Garza, Jorel Mikael Moreno, Brooklyn Leonor Garza, John Mikael Moreno, Audrey Corina De La Paz, and Chloe Yvonne R. Moreno. She also adored being a great-grandmother to Brieanne Alexandria Garza, Jaelin Michael Moreno, Russel Braden Garza, Jairin Mikael Moreno and Brielle Celeste Garza. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of The Heart Hospital, Dr. Mahmood and especially Dr. Mario Martinez for the special care given to our beloved Carolyn. Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Service will be at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
