Pop this is hardest too accept. Its now going on 2 weeks since you left us. I find myself lost and confused many days of the week. But I'm doing my best to stay strong and focused as I know that's what you would want me to do. This hurts my heart so so much and miss you  everyday that passes. I dreamed every day and night that one day I would some day see you again. I still remember the day like it was yesterday, I believe I was 12 when I went too throw the trash and as I was walking to the dumpster I herd your voice call my name.. I guess dream's do come true. I never did get too tell you but that day was the best day of my life..  Even though I was mad at you. I still remember running inside and telling Melinda without Mom knowing that you were here. Pop you are my HERO!! And hope just one day when throwing the trash I can hear your voice call my name one more time. LOVE YOUR SON JR.. RIP POP

Carlos was beloved grandfather and will always be cherished by many others as well. As we recently had services not to long ago services were held for my grandfather and that was a very upsetting time but in the end i remember that Carlos would want me to be strong and everyone else that he cherished. So all who knew Carlos, stay strong as he would want not only for you but all of us.

Words can’t begin to express the love my family has for this great uncle of ours.  Uncle Carlos took three boys from the streets of Chicago under his wing and taught us the importance of laughter, love for your family and how love helps strengthen the bond between siblings.  We have always cherished the guidance you gave us and I will personally miss our one on one discussion over being better men than we were yesterday.  I love you tío and I will miss you more than you know.  Until we meet again, this Jalapeño 🌶 is for you.   Te amo ❤️

On this day we laughed so much I miss you and love you Tio El Guapo

My Dearest Father,  on this day last week, I was giving you what would be your final bath. I knew  you would be passing away and even though I knew it would be coming soon, I was hoping it wouldn't come so soon. I know the pain of losing you will perhaps never leave me. I imagine it will ease with time as I process and get through it, but I don't suspect I will get over it. How can I? How can I get over a dad as he is the only parent I had in my life, the only parent to ever show me unconditional love, the only parent to truly give all he had without expecting anything in return? Your life, your energy is inextricably linked to mine and I now take comfort in that. I take comfort in knowing you are no longer feeling any pain or discomfort and were at peace as you slipped to the other side. Dad, you will forever be in my heart until the day it stops beating and even then will continue on through your grandchildren. I am grateful I am becoming a more fully realized human being, a more caring and compassionate and empathetic person because of you and all you've done for me, my brothers, and our kids. I have lost you, but only in body, not in spirit.. this is by far the most painful and heart-ripping life altering experience I have ever endured. I remain grateful and comforted knowing how much by beloved you, my Dad positively affected the lives of others.  In the words of Rich Robinson "I'll be here for you always, no matter how long you go, I'll see you when you come back around and we'll be together again. Now is the time for me to tell, I'll have you always in my heart, never to fade my love will go on and follow you forever." 

The oldest memory I have of you was when I was just a little girl... I was traveling with my mom and siblings, in grandpa Adams car. We didn’t make it to our destination, but you rolled up in the 18 Wheeler. I’m not sure why that particular memory is still sketched in my mind, but it is. Perhaps because you rescued us! I’ve always remembered that moment. Along with the many times you dropped by and took us out to eat! I’m glad my babies knew you! & they too had the privilege of enjoying lunch with you. I’ll miss you always. Thank you for being an inspiration of love, real humor and the reminder that being a genuine person is what we should all strive for.  

I am going to miss my Tio Carlos very much. I always got so excited to see him when he visited us in Houston. I will miss our laughs together but I will cherish every moment spent with him. 

I Absolutely loved taken of Mr Carlos!! I loved  his out going personality and his  sense of humor. I would go in to check on him and he’d say what are you doing here and then ask me  how my day was. I’d tell him that he has an amazing daughter and he’d  say yes and my boys aren’t too bad either. He was a sweet man. Sending prayers to you all and to his friends and family. 

I remember my Tio Carlos coming to visit every chance he got to come out here to Chicago, his visits will be dearly missed. Loved his stories and his jokes. I will always carry him in my heart and will truly miss him. Love you always Tio Carlos ❤️. Prayers to all the family.
