He married Dollie Mae Slocum in 1951, and their marriage lasted 44 years until Dollie’s death in 1995. Carl graduated in 1954 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A & M. He worked for USDA as a veterinary meat inspector for 39 years, retiring in 1992.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dollie, and his grandson, Nathan Yarbrough.
He is survived by 4 sons, Bill (Melinda), David, John and Scott Griffin; 2 daughters Kathy Yarbrough and Jill (Robert) Harris, 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 11, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 2727 Airline Road.
