Buddy was raised in Corpus Christi where he graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1957. He attended Texas A&M University and returned home to work in his family business, Deluxe Auto Parts. Later, he and his brother, Ace, started Coastal Bend Auction, the first car auction in Corpus Christi, Texas. It continues as Corpus Christi Auto Auction.
He married his high school sweetheart, Lena Collins Walker in 1960 and they were married 52 years, before her passing. Buddy is survived by one son, Bret (Michele) Walker of Pipe Creek, Texas, two daughters, Lori Walker of Odem and Stephanie (Pat) McDaniel of Sinton, Texas. Seven grandchildren, Clint (Allison) Walker of Pipe Creek, Destinee (Bobby) Clawson of Corpus Christi, Breanne (Chad) Wauson of Bulverde, Texas, Ryan (Emily) Walker of Pipe Creek, Sarah (Marshall) Michalec of Pipe Creek, Texas Wesley McDaniel of Sinton, and Nolan McDaniel of Corpus Christi, 9 great grandchildren and 1 on the way. One brother, Ace (Judy) Walker of Corpus Christi, along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister Peggy (Doc) Walls, one brother Harold (Barbara) Walker of Green River, Wyoming and two nephews.
Buddy is known for his exceptional sense of humor and larger than life laugh. He owned several businesses and real estate in the Corpus Christi area. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time on his bulldozer at the ranch. He considered his family the real treasure of his life.
Visitation will be held at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, with the service following at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. The service can also be viewed online at Memory Gardens Facebook page. Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m.
