Brenda Faye Johnson

She was employed with the CCISD as a School Nurse and worked for Ella Barnes Elementary. She was known by everyone as (Nursie) and retired in 2013. She enjoyed the rest of her retirement at home; painting small figurines, putting puzzles together, planting and doing a bunch of yard work. She loved to do crossword puzzles in her free time. She often listened to Gospel Music by Kirk Franklin.

She will leave to join her husband; the late Otis Johnson. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons: Jason B. (Selena) Johnson, Marcus W. (Cindy) Johnson and Vincent P. Johnson; and her only daughter, Crystal Ann (Wesley) Johnson. She will be lovingly missed by her grandsons: Donovin Johnson, Kayden Johnson, Khiree Johnson, and Zaire Phillips; granddaughters: Khiera Johnson, Khiana Johnson, Alitza Phillips, and Imani Phillips.

She is survived by her brothers: Lester Jackson, Anthony Gerard, Daryl Johnson; sisters: Betty Daniels, Gayland Duhart, Evon Stewart, Deborah Martin, Francis Marie Hopkins, Mary Willis, and Pam Ashley.

Brenda is preceded in death by her siblings: William Charles Johnson, David Gerard, Vickie Childress, Aubrey Childress, and Raymond Hurts.

She will never be forgotten by all her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and close friends whose lives she touch.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, November 20, 2020 starting at 12:30 PM with Funeral Service to follow at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 2:00 PM and will be Livestreamed via Memory Garden’s Facebook page. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
