Bobby Gene Williams died peacefully, with family at his side, on February 19, 2021 at the age of 79. Bobby was born on September 4, 1941 to Sidney and Ida Mae Williams in Palo Pinto, Texas. He graduated Roy Miller High School in 1958.
Bobby has 3 children: Barbie Gene Barton , Stephen George Williams and Lyle Dwayne Williams. He married Mildred Gross in 1987 and they have been married 33 years.
Bobby worked as a firefighter at Historical Station #1 in Corpus Christi, then took a position with Transcontinental Gas Pipeline for over 20 years. After his retirement, he worked at Bradley’s Electric Shop with his older brother, Jimmy Williams Sr.
He was a member of the Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church, where his unbelievable baritone voice could be heard in the choir. He had a great love for music. He was a fabulous dancer, and he would say he was Fred Astaire. He took great pride in maintaining his yard. He was known for having a beautiful landscaped yard in every home he ever lived in. He was an Adult 4-H leader for many years and helped with the Youth City Program.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Ida Mae Williams; his brother, Jimmy Williams Sr. and grandson, Kollyn Gene Barton.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Mildred (Millie) Williams of Corpus Christi, his children, Barbie (Erick) Barton of Mathis; Stephen (Michelle) Williams of Fredericksburg; Lyle (Julie) Williams of New Waverly; and step-children, Regina Steiner of Corpus Christi and Jimmy Steiner of Port Lavaca. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Zapalac of Robstown and brother, Jessie Williams of Portland.
He will be missed by his 11 Grandchildren: Brittany (Lane) Homeyer, Bellamy (Zach)Andrews, Kyle Barton, Kollyn Barton, Rylee Williams, Paxton Williams, Landen Williams, Carson Williams, Kendyll Williams, Klipper Williams, and Victoria Collins; as well as 6 Great Grandchildren: Hollis Holmes, Brady Holmes, Sadie Homeyer, Brylee Andrews, Emily Andrews and Ryker Andrews.
The family is very appreciative of the care Windsor nursing staff provided.
Services for Bobby Gene Williams will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Road in Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are: Erick Barton, Kyle Barton, Stephen Williams, Lyle Williams, Paxton Williams, Landen Williams and Carson Williams.
