Benny W. Klump Jr.

Benny graduated from Goliad High School. He began his career with the Rural Electrification Administration and later worked for AT&T for 30 years as a lineman and then as a telephone installer until his eventual retirement. He built several race cars and raced them at numerous drag strips around the state of Texas in the 1950’s and 1960’s and won many trophies. He also worked on many classic cars and custom cars that were displayed at local car shows.

He is preceded in death by Alice Lorrayne Klump, his wife of 73 years.

He is survived by his children, Benjamin William Klump III, and Jack Dee Klump; and granddaughter, Desiree A. Evans.

A visitation for Benny will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. An interment will occur Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 3:00 PM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
