MY CONDOLENCE TO THE TREVINO FAMILY. I AM A MEMBER OF THE PAN AMERICAN GOLF ASSOCIATION HERE IN CORPUS CHRISTI AND I REMEMBER BENNY REAL WELL. MY FRIEND BENNY WAS A VERY FUNNY MAN AND YES HE DID HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS WITH THE PAN-AM. MAY BENNY REST IN PEACE. BENNY WAS ALWAYS COMING UP WITH JOKES AND I REMEMBER HIM FOR THAT. WILL MISS MY FRIEND. AGAIN MY FRIEND REST IN PEACE.  RAUL RODRIGUEZ   

My brother 
Sitting here remembering my oldest brother, Benito Treviño.  He may not have been perfect, but I saw only the good in him and that made him a perfect brother to me.  After he moved to Corpus Christi, he always made time to visit our parents in Harlingen every other weekend and especially at Christmas.  He would show up at our house with a hog head for the Tamalada my mother made every Christmas Eve!  We, my sister Nena and I, spent many summers in Corpus and he and his wife, my sister in law Esther, would bring us into their home, which was already full with my nieces and nephews and treated us with love the same as if we were their kids!  I never heard a complain from either one of them, not even when I broke out in itchy hives that kept me and Esther up most of the night.  Someone at his work recommended they take me to the beach and the salt water would take care of whatever it was that made me break out!  That was my first experience going to South Beach.  The salt water burned like hell on my open scratches, but “Santo remedio!” The hives were gone!  He bought my sister and me our first Whataburgers in Corpus where the first whataburger stand opened up in the 1950s.  He took us both on his family’s vacation trips to Navasota, Texas where my Dad worked with the Bracero program. His car would be packed with all his kids, my nieces & nephews, and the two of us.  How we fit in that sedan beats me, but he never complained or said no to us!  He was there when my sister died.  He was always there for us!  When I got older, in my teens, I would tag along on their vacation trips to Monterrey, NL, Mexico.  One year, he even took my mother, myself and my niece, Perla.  That is the kind of brother he was.  He was there when I got married, he was there when my father died, when my mother died, when my daughter died, when our sister Maria Elena and all his brothers died! He was always there!  How do you say goodbye to someone who was always there?  😢
