Barbara E. Hight, 92, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on July 29, 2021. She was born in Foreman, Arkansas on July 13, 1929 to Ben and Julie Mae Griffin. She married Curtis Hight on December 24, 1945.
Barbara worked in the cafeteria for Calallen I.S.D. until she retired. She was a member of Riverside Church of Christ and had a passion for her church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whose abiding passion was all her children. She also loved playing cards with her friends. When she was younger, she loved bowling, going fishing and taking care of all her animals.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Curtis Hight; her parents, Ben and Julie Mae Griffin and two brothers, Thomas and Pete Griffin.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Darlene Hight and her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James McCown. She will be lovingly missed by her four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. James II and Sylvia McCown and great-grandson, James III. Crystal and Chad Keys and great-granddaughter, Keira Kimberly McCown and great-grandson, Curtis Deegan and great-granddaughter, Morgan.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, located at 8200 Old Brownsville Road in Corpus Christi, Texas on Saturday, August 7, 2021 starting at 8:30 AM. Graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
