Arturo A. Silva, 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on October 9, 2017. He was born on April 21, 1940, to Arturo C. and Romana A. Silva. Arturo graduated from W. B. Ray High School , Class of 1958. He worked for H E B #1 for many years until his retirement.
Arturo was a loving husband, father, son, brother who will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
He loved to draw, bowling and dancing . Arturo had a passion for playing his saxophone. He was known for his laughter and telling of jokes. He never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone he met.
He was a member of the Veterans Band of Corpus Christi, Texas and was an active member of the Cathedral of the Palms where he was known as Brother Artie.
Arturo is preceded in death by his parents, Arturo C. and Romana A. Silva; his former spouse, Elena Duron Silva; his brother-in-law, Genaro Vargas and sister-in-law, Beatrice Silva.
He is survived by his children; Irma (Ernest) Quintanilla, Javier (Christina) Silva, Ida (Lee Roy) Vidales and Gina (Luis) Marquez; his 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Gloria S. Vargas, Peter Silva, Ernest Silva, Janie Rodela (Roberto), David Silva and Nora Cason (Bill).
Public visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Funeral Home, 3442 Holly Rd. on Friday, October 13, 2017 with an evening prayer service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Service will be held at Funeraria Del Angel on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
